Called to order at 1:38p; Adjourned at 2:23pm.

Minutes Approval

4/28/09 Minutes were unanimously approved. 

5/12/09 Minutes.  Krystal clarified what is listed as Community Outreach in the new member section is actually the Community Service Committee, so that section should be changed. Community Outreach new members should be added to include Anna Gonzalez and Jill Royston and Brenda Warrington.  Unanimously approved as amended.

Spring Open Meeting Review

Good attendance.  Dr. Pepper's presentation was engaging.  The Wall exercise got people up and moving, and the recommendations were helpful. Ensuring a list of the new members is available is something a future committee chair should do.  Timing went smoothly.   Student Life had a long meeting the day before, so more people might have come.  Maybe morning meetings are better for attendance, since this one and the Heads Up Gonzaga seem better attended this year.  Plant attendance and participation was great.  Food got good reviews.    Gift certificates for outgoing members who were unable to attend are being distributed by William, Kim, and Krystal. 

Cares Initiative

We have yet to get a response from Fr. Spitzer's office to the proposal.    William will approach Jacinta to get time on Father's calendar or to press for a response. 

Staff Assembly Socials - Summer

            June 10, 2-3pm in the Rosauer Center for Education

            June 10, 8:50-9:10pm in the Plant Break Room (late shifts)

            June 11, 7:10-7:30 in the Plant Training Room (early shifts)

Transition to new Council

Newly elected people were contacted by Bill Kostelec.  Kim, Krystal, and William and getting outgoing committee and council members who did not attend the Spring Open Meeting their certificates and gift cards by personally deliveries.  Bill will call a council meeting together in two weeks.    

Action Items

William will seek response to Cares Initiative proposal.

Angela distributed approved minutes.

Kim, Krystal, and William will provide certificates and gift cards to outgoing members. 

Community Outreach Committee will promote June socials.
