Staff Assembly Meeting Minutes

January 3, 2007

Members present:  Shelly, Tim, Rick, Brady, Connie, Abe, Ann-Scott, William

  1. Staff Award (Outstanding Service In Support of Mission) There is a real need to get the nomination forms finalized and distributed as soon as possible.  There needs to be more explanation on the form.  A “media blitz” should include mail boxes.
  2. Peer Advisor Group training will be held on January 11 at 10:00 a.m.

  3. Tour of Jesuit House is coming up and open to all Staff.  Question was posed “does it include lunch”?  Shelly will find out.
  4. Elections – The process begins in March.  We need to think of ways to get more staff involved.  It was suggested that we hand out the CARES document 2 or 3 weeks in advance of nominations/elections so that people get a feel for what Staff Assembly does.
  5. Strategic Plan Feedback.  There has not been a lot of feedback from staff.  It would be good to have a condensed version (Cliff’s notes version).  Also, perhaps we could include a list of SA reps on the documents we distribute so that people know who to respond to with their suggestions.  “Drop us a line”….Yes or no.
  6. Donating sick time.  Still working on that.
  7. Staff Assembly CARES document.  SA needs to purchase 750 GU folders from the bookstore to put the document in for distribution.  Abe will follow up with David Lindsey.
  8. We discussed inviting the new HR/Plant person to come to a February meeting.

  9. Discussed possibility of Brown Bag sessions re Mission led by those people who have been designated by Fr. Spitzer to represent a specific area of the mission:

    1. Faith – Fr. Lee and Fr. Ganz

    2. Service – Sima Thorpe

    3. Justice – Raymond Reyes

    4. Leadership – Joe Albert

    5. Ethics – Mike Stebbins
