Staff Assembly ExecutiveCouncil Minutes
February 16th,2005

Members Present: Marcia Bertholf, Mary Beth Charleboix, StaceyChatman, Karen Franks-Harding, Kim Gieber, Jane Hession,Linda Sue McClure, Brady Nielsen, Angela Ruff, Erin Shields, TrevorWerttemberger.
Called to order at 12:05 p.m. by Vice President TrevorWerttemberger.
Approval of the minutesfrom February 2nd.
Compensation ConsultantsUpdate
Krystal and Trevor will be meeting with Thayne to discussconcerns regarding the compensation consultants. Prior to this meeting,Krystal has asked that we discuss our thoughts on the presentationand come up with our top comments and concerns.
The Top Issues to discuss with Thayne,regarding the Compensation Committee
A) Request an analysis of Spokane based wage tables. Where is the median? How is the median decidedupon?
B) There is no non-cupa staff salary analysis. Is this fair?
C) The Big Fish vs Small Fish Scale. What is the impact onsalaries?
D) Schedule market adjustments periodically, not yearly.
E) Re-evaluate market target for staff
Long Term Goals
A) The confidentiality issue can be a long term goal. We can work to pursue ananalysis of the non cupa-staff.
B) Work for competitive salaries
C) Trevor - Something needs to be in place to move towards “for meritpayâ€
D) When a job is evaluated, the information provided to the employeeneeds to include what factors were used to find the comparingjob. This will reducesubjectivity to the absolute minimum.
