Staff Assembly ExecutiveCouncil Minutes

November 3, 2004

1898 Conference Room 12:00 –1:00 p.m.

Members Present: Krystal Burns, Linda Sue McClure, Angela Ruff,Kathy Sherrick, Karen Franks-Harding, Erin Shields, TrevorWerttemberger.

Called to order at 12:05 p.m. by President Krystal Burns

Staff RegentPosition 

Recommendation information has been sent to Thayne and FatherSpitzer. Ourrecommendation was Kathy Sherrick and she is now our newrepresentative.

Satisfaction SurveyResults

The main concern is parking.  Krystal gave theinformation to Joe Miller and he is looking into it to see what canbe done.  30% of staff is satisfied with parking.  Angelasuggests we ask security to give up ticketing as a revenuesource.  Linda Sue asks why we aren’t vacating the streets weown to make parking, rather than parallel parking.  Krystalsuggests that this should be our first issue for January.     

Topics for the next HeadsUp

A)   Costumer Service Issues – Offices dealing with external as well asinternal, such as the help desk, plant services, switchboard andthe Crosby Student Ctr.       

B)    Recognizing Employees – Giving recognition to individuals who havediscovered a way to do a new program, etc. Success stories aroundcampus.  We can alsoadd a piece in the newsletter for this.

C)   Awards at the Heads Up – Making that part of the program.  Recognizing the lengthspeople are going to.

D)   The Mission – Some people don’t know anything about the pillars ofthe mission.  We canpossibly have a bulldog block series featuring several speakers,each responsible for one pillar.

E)    Bringing back Brown Bag Lunches

F)    A GU day – A day where staff can dress down, wear GU attire andshare a community feel.

The November17th Staff Assembly Lunch

A)   Menu – Chili bowls, baked potatoes and the fixings, green salad andcornbread.

B)    Food will be ordered for around 200 people.  We will keep an eye on theRSVP’s and adjust the count accordingly

The AccreditationReport

A)   Kim states that Krystal or the staff assembly should see thisreport.

B)    Krytsal and Trevor will meet with Thayne on November18th and try to get a complete report.

Lottery Ideas -  Linda Sue reminds us tostart thinking of lottery gift ideas for January throughMay.

By virtue of the bylaws,all Staff Assembly meetings are open unless otherwise designated bythe Executive Council. Everyone is welcome to attend. Meetingsoccur every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 12PM – 1PM inthe 1898 Room of the Administration Building.
