STAFF ASSEMBLY EXECUTIVE COUNCILMINUTES

Members Present: Marcia Bertholf, Mike Casey, KathySherrick, Trevor Werttemberger, Stacey Chatman
The meeting was called toorder by President Marcia Bertholf at 12:10 p.m.
Minutes from the June 25,2003 meeting were reviewed; Under #2 in “New Business†Dixon was added as Mike’slast name for the compensation committee. Since we didn’t have enoughfor a quorum, accepting the minutes will be delayed until July 9,2003.
Old Business
StaffAssemblyNewsletter. Community Outreach would like topost the newsletter. The open space left for compensation committee will be changed toinclude the 5 top ideas for the upcoming Professional Developmentluncheons that Staff Assembly will sponsor with HR. Marcia is meeting withTricia Burns tomorrow to go over details and then will write anarticle for the newsletter & submit to Sandra Boyd for printing& posting to the web.
Budget CommitteeUpdate: At thispoint, the UBC is unchanged and will still have representation fromthe staff. It is theresponsibility of the SAEC to help the representatives come up withproposed ideas for the budget agenda and have these to Chuck Murphyno later than the first of October. Faculty Senate is stilldeciding on whether they will have an Academic BudgetCommittee. Plans areon hold until the fall. Staff under the AVP willhave representation on this committee if it comes to fruition. Angela Ruff with alternateGeorgia Dunham will represent the staff.
Compensation CommitteeBallots - Tabled until nextweek. Krystal is onvacation and Mary Beth is not at the meeting today for anupdate.
Picnic Update - GSBA has been asked toprovide some volunteers for the July 23rd event. Marcia has taken care ofthe liquor license for the beer garden.
Staff Survey - The report has been writtenand delivered to Thayne McCulloh for the Accreditationprocess. The reportwill be at an upcoming meeting.
President’sLottery: Was notdiscussed today.

Recognition of the Founding members ofthe SAEC
Bring ideas next week on ways we couldhonor those that worked so hard to bring the Staff Assembly toGU. Plaque, luncheon,etc??? What do youthink?
