Staff Assembly Executive CouncilMinutes

March 4, 2004

1898 Room 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.

Members Present:Marcia Bertholf, Lisa Meyer, Krystal Burns, Linda Sue McClure,Kathy Sherrick, Mike Casey, Mary Beth Charleboix, Janice Resch,Angela Ruff, Sandra Bogdanski.

Called to order at 12:35 p.m. by President Marcia Bertholf.

Minutes:         Minutes approved as written.

Heads Up:      Was a great success. Many thanks to those who put it on. Mary Bethdistributed a compilation of the comments in report format to bedistributed to the Cabinet for review at next meeting on March11th.

Proposal from UBC &ABC Staff Members: Marcia distributed Chuck Murphy’s responseto the February 25, 2004 Memo regarding ceiling on salaryincreases. In sum, the Cabinet agreed to fully fund anniversaryadjustments. Other survey adjustments will not exceed 10%. Issueremains regarding use of ceiling and 3 to 5 year adjustments versusyearly. Reconsideration may be investigated. Original memo andMurphy response posted on Staff Assembly web. Special thanks to TimClancy and Sue Weitz for their support; many thanks to the Cabinetfor their consideration and positive response.

Budget for 2004 – 2005:  Linda Sue presented nextyear’s budget and stated that it had been approved along with therequested increase. A reminder to stay within budget next year.Kudos!!

AdministrationRe-structuring:  Thayne has been proposed forthe reinstated position of VP for Administration. He would be StaffAssembly representative.

ABC:  Sodexho prices to bepresented at the next meeting.

Cultural AwarenessProgram: anticipated date April 22, 2004. Regular occurrencesdiscussed: rotating times, monthly, etc, so employees of all shiftscan participate.

Basketball Tickets: Faculty Senate andCommunity Outreach Committee to discuss possible ways to distributetickets next year.
