Staff Assembly Executive CouncilMinutes
March 18, 2004
1898 Room 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.
Members Present:Marcia Bertholf, Lisa Meyer, Krystal Burns, Linda Sue McClure,Kathy Sherrick, Bill Kostelec, Mary Beth Charleboix, StaceyChatman, Kim Gieber, Cathy Perry. Called to order at 12:35p.m. by President Marcia Bertholf.
Minutes: “Treasurer’s report†changed to “budget report.†Minutes to beposted to Outlook public folder and staff-L email sent out tonotify staff.
Heads Up: Krystal and Mary Beth present compilation of Heads Up comments andsummary at Cabinet Meeting. Response from Cabinet was enthusiasticand supportive. Three issues came out of Heads Up: Close alloffices so all staff can attend the next one and move to springbreak to allow more to attend; there should be a solid show ofrepresentation from VPs, directors, supervisors. Last issueregarding possible implementation of respect policies was notfavorable received as perhaps other GU policies serve samepurpose.
Cultural AwarenessSeminar: Will be held April 22nd per RaymondReyes.
Proposal from UBC &ABC Staff Members: Marcia distributed Chuck Murphy’s responseto the February 25, 2004 Memo regarding ceiling on salaryincreases. In sum, the Cabinet agreed to fully fund anniversaryadjustments. Other survey adjustments will not exceed 10%. Issueremains regarding use of ceiling and 3 to 5 year adjustments versusyearly. Reconsideration may be investigated. Original memo andMurphy response posted on Staff Assembly web. Special thanks to TimClancy and Sue Weitz for their support; many thanks to the Cabinetfor their consideration and positive response.
ABC: Sodexho prices to bepresented at the next meeting.
Basketball Tickets: Discussion ensuing forFaculty and Staff Assemblies to form some type of a joint committeeto discuss possibilities for ticket distribution next year.
Zagfit: DebbieCerenzia and Heidi Hanson explained the Wellness Program (Zagfit)in-depth to Council with a question and answer period.
Elections: Everybodyto get out there and recruit folks to run for office as severalslots remain vacant.
