Staff Assembly Executive CouncilMinutes

February 5, 2004

1898 Room 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.

Members Present:Marcia Bertholf, Lisa Meyer, Krystal Burns, Linda Sue McClure,Kathy Sherrick, Trevor Werttemberger, Jane Hession, Mike Casey,Mary Beth Charleboix, Angela Ruff, Kim Gieber.

Called to order at 12:35 p.m. by President Marcia Bertholf

Minutes:         Minutes approved as written.

Heads Up:      Moving right along and ready for the big day with speakers set.There will not be a bi-weekly SAEC meeting that day. President’sOffice is financing Heads Up and paying the stipend for thepanel.

ZagfitClarification:    Onlineprivacy issues have been a concern of some employees, so Deborahwill be invited to clarify those aspects of Zagfit that are unclearand to answer questions.

Term Limits:   Marcia has agreed to atrial period of filling the position of Ex-Officio next year. Theterm will be reviewed, then voted upon by ballot to add or not anew position of Ex-Officio to the Staff Assembly ExecutiveCouncil.

Daycare SubcommitteeUpdate:    Krystal presented that the survey is in final form on Zagweb andwill be emailed out to via everyone@gonzaga.edu. Hard copies will be sent to eachPlant Services employee since they don’t have computer access. Aninitial test survey will be sent out, then the final one. Kai willcompile results and give us the flat data, then enter into astatistics program for analysis. It was suggested and agreed thatthe survey should be included within online student registrationduring the beginning of the open registration period.

Lottery:          Linda Sue presented that the lottery is allowable as long as thereare not the options of cash back or application towards an existingaccount when using the certificate.

Financial Report:       Linda Sue presented that we’re over budget by about $1300; nextyear’s projections pending. Linda Sue will follow up with Rick.

Scheduling of futuremeetings

By virtue of the bylaws,all Staff Assembly meetings are open unless otherwise designated bythe Executive Council. Everyone is welcome to attend.
