STAFF ASSEMBLY EXECUTIVE COUNCILMINUTES

Wednesday, October 29, 2003 12:00 –1:00 p.m.

Members Present:  Marcia Bertholf, Krystal Burns, LisaMeyer, Linda Sue McClure, Mary Beth Charleboix, TrevorWerttemberger, Bill Kostelec, Kim Gieber, Jane Hession, AngelaRuff, Stacey Chatman, Kathy Sherrick, Keith Gauthier.

The meeting was called toorder by President Marcia Bertholf at 12:05 p.m.

Old Business

1.)              Minutes from October 15,2003:  Approved.

2.)              Compensation Consultant:Reminder that Friday, Nov.7^th, from 12:00-1:30 in the Foley Grenan Board Room,will be the meeting with the outside consultant team. Also notedwas that the term “living wage” must be clearly defined andspecified for meaning and scope.  Finally, decision as to wayto post the compensation survey online is in process. Concernsabout web security, keeping results internal are primary issues tobe addressed.

3.)              Staff Survey-Documents forAccreditation:           Ken Sammons’ memo with our response will be posted in PlantServices and emailed to all managers. Marcia is in discussion withThayne to determine the best way to post the staff survey resultsonline which could include rewording the results and releasing themas one report; access of survey to accreditation committee asdocumentation to Standard Nine.

4.)              Term Limits: moved to next meeting’sagenda.

New Business

1.)              Staff Assembly Newsletter:The Outreach Committee is readyto do a spotlight.

2.)              Website Security: Gonzaga’s website lacks securityfeatures to prevent users from copying pages and images from pagessuch as photographs.  If that is a concern,especially for those who will have posted photos, please notifyTrevor.

3.)              Budget Committee: Linda Sue stated that we need moremoney for the Staff Morale account. It was suggested that perhapsSodexho could assist in this manner such as putting money on IDBadges for use in their facilities. Linda Sue will present acompleted treasurer’s report by the end of November.

4.)              Compensation Committee:     Plant service’s uniform issuewill be re-addressed as previous research into the matter needs tobe clarified.

By virtue of the bylaws, all StaffAssembly meetings are open unless otherwise designated by theExecutive Council. Everyone is welcome to attend.
