STAFF ASSEMBLY EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MINUTES(AMENDED)

The meeting was called to order by President KeithGauthier at 12:10
Old Business
Approval of minutes from 7/17, 7/24, 8/7 and8/28
Steven Doolittle has been chosen to be the new StaffRegent
Anniversary cards are still anissue:

Cost of producing certificates – Bookstore
Keith is addressing the issue.
Lottery – October – Anne Thomas $25 gas card and $75 giftcertificate to Walters in Greenbluff; November – Fred Meyer; December – Riverpark Square
New Business
Brett and Jeannie updated the SAEC on the budgetcommittee activity, all summer meetings were cancelled and theyhave not met as of yet but start meeting every otherWednesday. They don’tfeel as if they know what they are doing, they were given no“purpose†from the University’s budget committee. They were given a“confidential†budget, but what to do with it?
Brett gave the SAEC a rundown of the analysis of theStaff survey. He willget copies to all member of the SAEC.
Dale Goodwin would like to interview Keith for theNovember issue of Spirit. Would like to hear aboutthe direction the SAEC will be heading this year.
Steven Freedman has asked the SAEC to review theStatement of Governance Principles and Explanation of GovernancePrinciples as pertains to the Board of Trustees. He is looking for feed backand suggestions.
Diversity Video - Raymond Reyes will attend the nextSAEC (10-2) to show the video. SAEC needs to decide how and when toshow to the entire staff assembly
Fall open meeting – When? Thayne McCulloh would liketo address the Staff Assembly on the Re-accreditationprocess.
Need clarification of classification of employees,are the VPs considered staff and are they part of the StaffAssembly?
Janice Resch was chosen as interim treasurer. The SAEC will address theaddition of a treasure to the SAEC at a latermeeting.
Scheduling of futuremeetings
Next Meeting will be held on October 2, 2002 in thePresident’s Conference Room.
Future meetings will be held each Wednesday in 1898Room from 12:00 – 1:00. Since this is the lunchhour, please feel free to bring your lunch. All SAEC members will benotified if there is a change to this recurringmeeting.
By virtue ofthe bylaws, all Staff Assembly meetings are open unless otherwisedesignated by the Executive Council. Everyone is welcome toattend.
