STAFFASSEMBLY EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MINUTES

March 6,2000

SOUP ANDSUBSTANCE LUNCHEON:

JaneHession contacted Rosemarie regarding attending the Soup andSubstance Luncheon. They have invited only one member of the Staff Assembly ExecutiveCouncil, not the entire council, to attend the next luncheon, whichwill be on Friday, March 10, 2000.  It would be advisable thata member of the council that will be a Staff Assembly officer nextyear attend this luncheon. Jane would like to meet with the StaffAssembly Executive Council to discuss the possibility of combiningefforts with Partnership In Mission to put on a Soup and Substanceluncheon for the staff to discuss concerns and issues.

STAFF ASSEMBLYJUNE EVENT:

Rosemariecontacted Raymond Reyes to ask him if he would speak at the JuneStaff Assembly Event. Raymond has agreed to be the speaker.  Rosemarie will discuss atime and date for the event with Raymond.

COMPENSATION SURVEY RESULTS TO STAFF:

Twomeetings have been scheduled for the Staff Assembly,  Wednesday, March 15, 2000,6:30 A.M. to 8:00 A.M. and Thursday, March 16, 2000, 10:00 A.M. toNoon, to hand out and discuss the new Personnel Policy Handbooks,discuss the new staff advocates, and to announce and discuss theresults of the Employee Compensation Survey.  Rosemarie will send out ane-mail to all staff members to inform them of the dates andtimes.  

A copyof this survey will be given to Harry Sladich as well as Fr.Spitzer.  It wassuggested that each department receive one copy of the survey.  If additional copies areneeded, individuals can receive a copy from Faculty Services for aminimal fee. 

COMPENSATIONSURVEY, SPRING 2000:

The members of the Compensation Committee presented the resultsof the Compensation Survey done by the staff.  (See handouts)  Thayne McCulloh explainedthe survey results to the members of the Staff Assembly ExecutiveCouncil.  Thayne willpresent these results to the staff at the Wednesday, March 15, 2000and Thursday, March 16, 2000 Staff Assembly meetings. 

2000-2001 STAFFASSEMBLY ELECTIONS:

The following positions will be on the ballet for the 2000-2001election for new Staff Assembly Officers:

1)     VicePresident

2)     Secretary

3)     2 Year Representatives:  2- Non-Exempt and2-Exempt

4)     Budget Committee – 1-Exempt

5)     SecurityAdvisory Committee – 1

6)     Safety& Health Committee – 1

7)     ServiceLearning Committee – 1- Non-Exempt and 1- Exempt

8)     Nomination/ElectionCommittee – 2-Non-Exempt and 2-Exempt

Nominations foroffices will begin in April and the election will take place inMay.
