STAFFASSEMBLY EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MINUTES

 JOBCLASSIFICATIONS AND PAY INCREASES:

The issues of job classifications and payincreases were discussed. It was addressed that Rosemarie and Scottwill ask Steve Doolittle what mechanism is in place at Gonzaga thatevaluates staff job classifications and salary scales.

WORKINGON HOLIDAYS:

It wasdiscussed that there are departments that are open twenty-fourhours a day, seven days a week.  These departments shouldwork with the staff to have rotating holidays off in order to befair to all employees.

LABOR DAYHOLIDAY:

SteveDoolittle contacted Rosemarie to inform the Staff Assembly thatthere is now an issue regarding the Labor Day holiday change thatwas thought to be resolved. A solution could possibly be forindividual departments to give the staff the option of taking offLabor Day or the university’s designated Labor Day.  This issue will bediscussed further with the HR Department.  

COMPENSATIONCOMMITTEE SURVEY:

Bobbiedistributed a copy of the Gonzaga University Staff AssemblyCompensation Committee, Compensation Survey, Fall 1999 handout tothe members present. This survey will be sent out to allstaff.  After thesurveys are returned, the data will be collected and the originalsurveys destroyed. The responses will be forwarded to Harry Sladichas well as the HR Department for their review.  In January the results ofthe survey will be reported to staff.
