Heads Up Gonzaga (HUG) 

The 6th Annual Heads Up Gonzaga event took place on Thursday, April 24th, 2008 from 9:00-1 pm in the Globe Room of Cataldo Hall.  Karen Feltes, Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Secretary for Avista Corporation was the guest speaker.  This year we talked about change.  There are many changes coming for the University: the change in leadership, the recently adopted strategic plan, the move to performance management, and the growth plan for enrollment and endowment, just to name a few.  These changes affect us both as individuals as well as a community.  Karen talked to us about how we can effectively handle this change and move through the 3 zones of change: the Ending, Losing, Letting Go zone, the Neutral Zone, and the New Beginning zone.

 Look for more discussion on how to handle change coming up within the next couple of months.

Staff/Faculty Family Picnic 

Mark your calendar!  The 7th Annual Staff/Faculty Family Picnic will take place on Wed. July 30th from 4:30-8 p.m. on the grass area along the Spokane River, between the Law School and Patterson Baseball Complex.  Click here to view the flyer for more information.  The Picnic Planning Committee is busy planning yet another fun filled evening for you and your family.  If you would like to get involved in this planning, or have some ideas for the Committee, please email them.  We look forward to hearing your ideas!

Open Meetings 

The Spring Open Meeting for Staff Assembly will take place on Thursday, June 12th.  Come meet your new Staff Assembly Representatives and find out what the Staff Assembly will be doing for you this next year.  More details to come.

Staff Appreciation Socials 

Don't forget about those Staff Assembly Appreciation Socials!  Every 2nd Wednesday and 2nd Thursday of each month you'll find your Staff Assembly representatives dishing out yummy treats for you as our way of saying Thanks!  for all you do.  The Wednesday socials take place at 2:30 on the lower level of Crosby and at 8:10 p.m. in Plant Services.  The Thursday social takes place at 7:10 a.m. in Plant Services.  So come out and enjoy some yummy treats with your Staff Assembly Representatives.  We Appreciate You!!
