Graduate Commencement 2015 Checklist

Students completing studies at any time in 2015 are eligible to participate in the Spring 2015 commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 9 at 12 noon in McCarthey Athletic Center.  There is no limit to guests, and no tickets required.  

All students and guests, regardless of faith, are invited to attend the Commencement Mass at 4pm on Saturday, as well. 

Apply to Graduate by November 1  

Students completing studies by Spring 2015 semester (May 2015) need to apply to graduate by November 1 to avoid a $25 late fee.   If completing Summer and Fall 2015, apply by February 1 to avoid the late fee. 

Travel & Hotel Arrangements

Hotels fill quickly!  Graduation for WSU is the same weekend.  Encourage your family to book a hotel as soon as possible. 

Announcements by March 2

Order announcements anytime before the ceremony, but be aware that after March 2, a late fee and shipping charges for quick delivery will apply.  You will receive your order before March 30. 

Order Attire by March 2

Special attire is required to participate in the ceremony – a keepsake set of gown, cap, and hood. 

Pick-up Attire

   Masters:  Campus TBA
   Doctoral:  Celebration banquet on Thursday, May 7 at 6 p.m. at Bozarth Retreat Center

Rehearsal Friday, May 8 at 2pm

A layout of the ceremony student seating plan and instructions with protocols will be available via this website by April 27.  A live rehearsal is available as a courtesy to help prepare for the ceremony – attendance is not required.

11:15 a.m. –
Student lineup The Martin Centre Gym. Guests go to the McCarthey Athletic Center
11:45 a.m. – Students move into position for the academic procession
12:00 noon – Ceremony begins
  2:00 p.m.  – Champagne social for students and guests in The Martin Centre Fieldhouse

Commencement Mass Saturday, May 9 at 4:00 p.m.

All students and guests, regardless of faith, are invited to attend the Commencement Mass at 4pm on Saturday, as well.    Tickets are not required.   

Students may attend in attire and process in for seating on the main floor, or not be in attire and join their guests in the audience.  Mass Student Lineup at 3:15pm in Martin Centre Gym.
