Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match most charitable contributions made by their employees. Corporate matching gifts are an important source of Gonzaga's annual giving funds. Thousands of corporations in the United States have programs that benefit educational institutions. Last year Gonzaga received matching gifts totaling a record-breaking $198,702! These gifts were most often credited to the same purpose as the donor's original gift and count toward recognition in gift clubs! In most cases, Gonzaga received dollar-for-dollar matches. But in some cases it was higher, with the company's match doubling or even tripling the gift of the employee. Some companies may even match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses. The amount of the match, payment schedule, employee eligibility, requirements and access to forms are at the sole discretion of each employer.
