Giovanna Russo Schmid
- Ph.D., Sociology, University of Trento
Giovanna Russo Schmid was born in Florence and christened in San Giovanni, this being a true guarantee of her "Florentinity." She holds a degree from the University of Trento in Sociology and degrees in foreign languages in Switzerland and England. She has taught Italian at Gonzaga-in-Florence since 1980. She loves her work, which is not only teaching the Italian language but also the habits, traditions and Italian family customs so that students can understand a very different style of life. She has a friendly relationship with her students and helps them reach their potential in Italian. Professor Russo responds to the specific needs of each group of students keeping in mind that Italian must always be taught as "una lingua viva", a living language.
