These web servers handle student personal web pages, student organization pages, technical resource pages, and some faculty and staff web pages. They also contain the student and faculty e-mail directory.

Accessing Barney E-Mail

Barney e-mail can be accessed using a web browser via ZagMail. Barney e-mail is also available via telnet or using a POP3/IMAP mail client. Read the documentation for more information on accessing your e-mail on Barney.

General Information

ZagNet Accounts - ZagNet accounts allow you to login to the computer labs and gives you a Gonzaga e-mail address and space on Barney for your own web page and document storage. ZagNet accounts are available in the AD016 Computer Center in the Administration Building. Accounts are available 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm Monday through Friday. ZagNet accounts are available to any student or employee at Gonzaga University. Clubs and other official organizations at Gonzaga can also get a ZagNet account for a club/group e-mail address or web page. For more information, e-mail Greg Francis at francis@gonzaga.edu.

Mailing Lists - Mailing lists are a great way for clubs, classes, and other groups to share information via e-mail. Interested? Contact Greg Francis at francis@gonzaga.edu or fill out a mailing list request form.

Java in Web Pages - Interested in adding Java to your web page on Barney? JDK 1.1.5 is installed and available for use. Go here for documentation and examples.

Changing Residence Halls - Changing residence halls requires you to change the IP and gateway address if you have a computer connected to ZagNet. Go here for information on how to update your IP and gateway address to use the Internet from your new room.
