Committee
The
Technology Committee considers and recommends policies related to
the use of computer technology. The committee also serves as
a resource to the administration for planning regarding computer
technology.

Information
Technology Council
The ITC reviews and recommends to the Technology Committee a
strategic technology plan for the university. The ITC reviews
all proposals regarding significant changes or additions to the use
or deployment of technology on campus. The ITC reviews
proposals for their fit with the university's strategic technology
plan, the availability of resources, and prioritizes work on
approved proposals.
Proposals to the ITC may come from any department or division of
the university but must be supported by the areas vice
president. Proposals must include a description of the work
to be performed, the anticipated benefit, an estimate of the real
and the personnel costs, and a cost-benefit analysis. The CIO
and his or her staff will review the cost and benefit
estimates.
The ITC shall consist of the five area vice presidents (academics,
finance, university relations, student life, and mission), the
Corporation Counsel, the Director of Plant Services, and one
faculty representative. The CIO will serve as staff for the
committee.

Web Steering Committee
The
WSC oversees and manages the university's web sites, including the
university Internet and intranet sites. The WSC is
responsible for strategic planning for the university's web sites,
developing and approving policies and procedures, managing
competing priorities, determining needs and helping to procure
resources, and communicating about the web with the university
community.
The
committee is composed of the university's CIO, Director of Desktop
Support, Web Developer, Director of Public Relations, at least one
faculty member, and various representatives from the rest of the
Gonzaga Community. The Director of Desktop Support and the
CIO serve as co-chairs of the committee.

Desktop Standards Committee
The DSC develops standard hardware and software configurations for
office computing equipment, develops standards for vendor support,
and solicits and reviews bids from vendors to be the university's
sole source vendor.
The
committee will consist of employees from various areas of the
university with varying interests and office computing
needs. The committee will be chaired by the
director of Desktop Support, who will be an ex officio
member of the committee.
