| Job Purpose |
| Assists the Head coach and assistant coach in the development and administration of the University's Soccer Athletic Program. |
 |
|
|
| Essential Functions |
- Assists in providing coaching and administrative duties to support the NCAA Division I soccer program including:
- • assists in coordinating day to day practice on the field and practice preparation
- • assists in organizing and coordinating all travel plans, vans, accommodations, etc,
- • assists in coordinating all scouting and recruiting of student athletes for soccer program
- • operates the soccer program in compliance with NCAA rules and operating procedures
- • assists in completing and maintaining all forms and records as required for NCAA.
- • assists in supervising student employees
- • assists in maintaining and ordering equipment and supplies
- • trains and develops goalkeepers
- Assists in maintaining and monitoring information required for NCAA eligibility of each student athlete and informs the athletes on NCAA rules and regulations.
- Assists in monitoring the academic performance of student athletes to assure graduation of the student athletes.
- Assists in maintaining a close working relationship with the SID regarding media relations, public relations, promotion, and awards to promote intercollegiate athletics as an integral part of the University.
- Assists in maintaining a close working relationship with the trainer in regards to athletic injury, treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention.
- Contributes through departmental policies, procedures, and actions to University-wide gender equity and cultural diversity efforts and to foster a climate of multi-cultural understanding and appreciation.
- Performs other duties as assigned in support of the Gonzaga mission.

- Assists as needed with driving duties.
- Assists other members of the Athletic department during peak periods and with special workload projects.
- Contributes to Athletic Department's involvement in University and community programs by participation in University and community committees, activities, etc.

| Supervision Given/Received |
|
Reports to the Head Women’s Soccer Coach. Incumbent expected to work independently without direct supervision using independent judgment and discretion. May supervise the work of student employees.
|
|
| Physical Demands |
|
The administration portion of this position (20%) is essentially a sedentary job. May involve extensive wrist and hand movements related to computer keyboarding and/or typing work. The coaching/recruiting/promoting function (80%) involve time standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting (max. of 50lbs) walking, carrying, traveling and other movements. Ability to be mobile campus wide for various business needs.

| Required Qualifications |
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year playing and/or coaching experience in soccer with knowledge of rules of the game and playing strategies.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulation; ability to pass NCAA coach's certification test.
- Ability to travel throughout the academic year and summer.
- Ability to communicate with and motivate student athletes.

- Degree in related field Physical Education, Recreation, Sports Administration.
- College level and/or Division I soccer playing and/or coaching experience.
