Fall Family Weekend
October 23 - 25, 2009
Join us for a weekend of ACADEMICS, ARTS, and ATHLETICS!

Greetings from Gonzaga!  You and your family are invited to join your GU student for Fall Family Weekend.  This annual event will be jam-packed with great things:  a chance to learn about your student's life at Gonzaga, a fun-filled weekend of activities for mind, body and spirit, as well as some exciting entertainment for the whole family.  The Schedule of Events page will give you the highlights of the weekend - there will be a zillion more events planned by the time FFW actually gets here.  We will have the final schedule, nametags, and a packet of information ready for your arrival in October.

Register Online:  Register and pay for FFW online (Visa or MasterCard) by October 9.   Select Online Registration on the left side of this page and follow the instructions.   If you wish to register and pay by check, use the registration form which was mailed home on August 27.  Your registration and fee must be electronically submitted (or postmarked) by October 9.  There will be a late fee ($15) assessed for missing this date.  We will confirm your registration by e-mail provided we have time.

This Just In - KRAZINESS IN THE KENNEL! The men's basketball team will hold a live scrimmage for your viewing pleasure on Saturday, October 24th at 5:00 pm in the McCarthey Athletic Center.  Doors will open at 4:00 pm and for those of you needing a little snack before taking your student out to eat, all concession stands, including the Carvery, will be open.  No tickets needed.  Seating is first-come, first- served.

New This Year -- FFW Campus-wide Food Drive:  Help us stock the shelves at Second Harvest Food Bank.  Make this an annual event at FFW; bring canned goods from home or shop in local stores for much-needed grocery items--with your help, we will make a difference!!!

GU Night at Costco:  Plan on doing a bit of shopping with your student?  On Friday, October 23, Costco on North Division will be open ONLY FOR GONZAGA PEOPLE from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.  Great prices, fantastic door prizes, food court open and, best of all, you don't have to be a member of Costco to shop.

Always popular: "How to get your son or daughter off the family payroll." This should be a required session for all parents investing in a college education!!!  The Gonzaga Alumni Mentor Program (GAMP) offers extraordinary opportunities for students to meet and network with regional and national employers. Learn more about Gonzaga's Trek program and other career services that can help you get your student on the road to professional success.

Comedian Kevin Nealon: GAB (the Gonzaga Activities Board) is proud to announce a comedy act for your entertainment: Comedian Kevin Nealon, star of several shows and movies such as the Emmy-Award winning show "Weeds", "Saturday Night Live", "Happy Gilmore", and "The Wedding Singer" will be performing on Friday, October 23rd at 8:00 pm in the McCarthey Athletic Center.  Gonzaga University student tickets are $20 - all others are $25.  To buy tickets through Gonzaga's Ticket Central, click here.  NOTE: You will need your student's Gonzaga ID number to purchase their individual ticket at the discounted rate.  You can only purchase one GU student ticket per transaction.  Those of you fortunate enough to have multiple students attending our University, please log-in to the Ticket Central website for each student ticket you wish to purchase.  Tickets will be available for pick-up in Crosby at the Ticket Central desk after purchase.  Open Seating.

Trends in Cyber Crime:  Don't miss this informative session, brought to you by an FBI agent.  Understand the latest trends in cyber crime that target our tech-minded young people, as well as anyone who accesses the internet.

Potential GU Student:  Do you have a junior or senior in high school who would like to visit with an Admissions counselor, tour campus, or visit classes during FFW?  Contact the Visit Office NOW at visit@gonzaga.edu or call at 1-800-322-2584 ext. 6531 to reserve a spot--this gives them plenty of time to create an individualized visit schedule.

Please submit your registration information and fee no later than October 9, 2009.  If you have questions about the schedule of events, the registration process or anything else, please feel free to call or send an e-mail message. Please bear in mind that we are VERY hard to reach the week leading up to FFW as we are quite frantically preparing for your arrival. We look forward to greeting you on campus in October!
