Tutoring

We recommend students having trouble with their course material to seek out the help of their professor.  Professors are available before and after class, and have posted office hours which are usually listed on the student's syllabus.  If, after you've communicated with your professor, you still find yourself needing extra help, follow these steps.

 1) If you are looking for help with a writing assignment or mathematics course, seek out these department's labs.  The Writing Center is located in Foley Library.  Visit their website for hours and other helpful resources.  The Mathematics Lab is located in Herak 244.  Their schedule varies within and between semesters.  Hours are posted in the Herak Building on the lab door and in the Department Chair's office, Herak 227A.

2) For all other courses, and/or extra help beyond the writing center or math lab, ask your professor for a list of available tutors.  Tutors are privately arranged; most charge a fee.  Your professor should have contact information for each tutor. The Office of Academic Services will post any tutor information we are aware of on our bulletin board outside our office, College Hall 326.

3) Click here for organized group tutoring session information.  This information is updated each semester.

4) If your professor does not have a list of available tutors, go to the Department Chair.  Department Chairs rotate each academic year.  Ask your professor or Dean's Office for the current Department Chair of the course for which you need tutoring.
