Please Note: Information on this page is subject to change for the Fall 2014 semester.
Before you read, watch our YouTube video that may help put some of those schedule change butterflies at bay.
While we welcome your questions and inquiries regarding schedule changes, please read through the following FAQ's, as we may have already answered your questions here:
Why am I taking Music in the Humanities? What requirement does HIST 101 fulfill? Does this course even count towards my degree? Get these questions answered in the "Why Am I Taking These Courses" page, where we break down your schedule by University and School/College Core, or major/area of interest.
Who is my Academic Advisor? Advisor assignments will be distributed during New Student Orientation, where you will meet him/her at the Academic Convocation on Monday, September 2nd. You will work with your advisor on all things academic beginning that day.
How do I know what schedule changes to make if I don't have an advisor yet? Your first semester schedule was constructed by professional advisors in the Academic Advising & Assistance office. We are cross-curriculum advisors, which means we know what you need regardless of what major and/or College/School you are enrolled in. We are available to you to answer questions, concerns or requests regarding your schedule for fall, including registration adds and drops.
What can I expect when making a schedule change? We are here for you, ready to listen actively and work towards the best possible schedule that meets degree requirements, and we hope, your expectations for the upcoming fall term. We give each student the time and attention deserved so you leave us feeling informed and comfortable going into your first semester at Gonzaga. It will help our advising process if you:
- Come prepared - write down what you are requesting and any questions you have so you don't forget anything important.
- If you wish to add an elective course, be prepared with more than one course choice, as they do fill quickly.
- Practice patience. We are doing our absolute best to move through student requests efficiently without sacrificing quality. We appreciate your patience very much!
Can my parents come with me into the advising meeting? Yes, of course, but please know we cannot make any schedule changes, or answer advising questions about your academics without you, the student, present. All schedule changes must be made by the student.
Can I change my own schedule on Zagweb? As a new student, you will not be able to alter your schedule in any way on Zagweb until spring semester. Your first semester is the only time in your Gonzaga career where your schedule will be constructed for you. You will make all future schedules in conjunction with the advice of your Academic Advisor.
When can I see an advisor to discuss my schedule and request changes? Academic Advising & Assistance advisors are available for individual, in-person advising discussions with new students during the following dates/times:

ADD/DROP PERIOD Changing Your Schedule After Classes Begin - September 1 - 12
Your courses will begin officially on Tuesday, September 2nd. Each semester, there is an add/drop period in which students may make final adjustments to their schedules. If, after a consultation with your faculty advisor, whom you will meet on Monday, September 1st, you determine you would like to make more changes to your schedule, please visit the Academic Advising & Assistance office (College Hall 104) during regular business hours before the following dates:
Last day to Add a Course - Wednesday, September 10th
Last day to Drop a Course - Friday, September 12th
Schedule changes can be made, with a Course Add/Drop Form, signed by your advisor, in our office, College Hall room 104, or the Registrar's Office, College Hall room 229. Add/Drop forms can be obtained from our office (CG 104) beginning September 1st.
We strongly encourage you to make add/drop changes within the first week of class, when possible. The later you change a course, the more material you will have missed. Further, absences you will have incurred (even while you were not yet enrolled) can still count against you in terms of total allowable absences per course in a given semester.
See you all soon!
