Nursing
If you are interested in studying Nursing, and have not been accepted into the Nursing Program at Gonzaga, please contact Academic Advising and Assistance for an advising discussion at 509-313-4072. Nursing (NURS) students who have been accepted into the Nursing Program are pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Your first semester schedule will include the following courses:
- NURS 100 Nursing Perspectives
- MATH 121 Introduction to Statistics
One of the following courses:
- PSYC 101 Introduction to Psychology
- SOCI 101 Introduction to Sociology
Most Nursing students will NOT take any lab science in their first semester. Biology and Chemistry will both be taken in the spring term. This is an arrangement that has been discussed and planned for between Biology, Chemistry, Nursing and the Academic Advising & Assistance office.
Students interested in Nursing at Gonzaga must apply and be accepted for this program. The Nursing Department will notify Academic Advising and Assistance of those students who have been accepted into the Nursing Program. These students will be registered accordingly. If you applied for the Nursing Program and were denied at this time, but are interested in taking pre-nursing courses, please choose "Undecided Nursing" as your major choice.
For program information and course descriptions, please visit the on-line Undergraduate Catalogue. You will follow the 2013-14 Undergraduate Catalogue - this is your contract with the University, and vis versa. Be sure to review the information in the 13-14 catalogue when it becomes available (the catalogue is still under review, and should be posted to the website this summer). Until then, please refer to the 2012-2013 Undergraduate Catalogue, as much of the information is the same.
