Chinese, Japanese and Arabic are also offered to students, though are not majors or minors.
Students pursuing a foreign language major or minor in one of the above areas, or who show interest in taking them per the Academic Interest Survey, will be placed into the appropriate level language course in the first semester (depending on course availability). Students are placed in foreign language courses according to language background and academic history, as well as their performance on the foreign language placement exam, administered through the registration questionnaire.
