As Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Gonzaga University, I am very pleased to welcome you to our celebration of the 120th anniversary of the College, and I encourage you to attend the exciting activities of October 20, 2007, including the dedication of the Administration Building as College Hall. For more information, please see our Calendar of Events for the many wonderful events we have planned or view our invitation here. I am greatly honored to be the newest Dean of this illustrious and historic College. What drew me to the College, and to Gonzaga (I arrived as dean in July of this year), are exactly those hallmarks that have drawn our students here for well over a century: a mission centered on humanistic, Catholic and Jesuit values and aspirations; a dedicated, distinguished faculty with expertise in the various fields of the humanities, natural sciences and social sciences, but who are committed to a common pursuit to educate the "whole person." On October 20, and in the coming months' activities celebrating the College, I look forward to sharing with you the many stories, achievements and pursuits that define the College, its students, faculty and staff. Sincerely, Marc Manganaro, Ph.D. Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences |
