Dan has overall responsibility for the human resource activities of employment, compensation, benefits, affirmative action, training and development, employee relations, personnel policies and procedures, safety programs, workers compensation, and health management. Prior to coming to Gonzaga, Dan spent 28 years in the human resources field in electronics, transportation, and higher education. He joined the Gonzaga Human Resources team in 2006.

Jamie is responsible for handling day-to-day benefits administration, coordinating special projects for Benefits and Environmental Health & Safety, overseeing the commute trip reduction program, and assisting with safety claims and leave administration. She joined the Gonzaga Human Resources team in 2000.

Dennis Hansen

Dennis is responsible for development and implementation of employee safety programs, building and grounds safety, chemical hygiene safety which includes hazardous waste disposal, safety training, ergonomics, and emergency preparedness. Prior to coming to Gonzaga, he developed hazardous waste operations and emergency preparedness plans for large companies in the northwest. He joined the Gonzaga Human Resources team in 1996.

Tracy Kelly responsibilities include non-faculty employment and hiring, as well as Human Resources information systems and workflow.  She joined the Gonzaga Human Resources team in 2001.

Debby LaRocco
Benefits Manager

Debby is responsible for the management of the employee benefit programs such as the retirement, medical, dental, life and disability plans. This includes making sure the plans are in compliance with government regulations, are competitive with area businesses, are fiscally sound and meet the needs of our staff and faculty.  Prior to coming to Gonzaga, Debby managed the benefits program of a non-profit healthcare institution.  She has worked in the benefits field for over 20 years and joined the Gonzaga Human Resources team in 2008.

Heather is responsible for compensation administration, job evaluations and requisitions, wage and hour compliance, and oversees the employee relations, employment, and HRIS functions.  Prior to coming to Gonzaga, Heather worked in the Human Resource Management field for an electronics manufacturing company here in Spokane. She joined the Gonzaga Human Resources team in 2000.

Melissa Schlenker is responsible for answering general Human Resource questions, assisting employees with completing paperwork, and providing general clerical support for the Human Resource team.   She joined the Gonzaga Human Resources team in 2008.

Gretchen Stoup

Gretchen helps Gonzaga staff navigate the sensitive topic of employee relations.  Employee Relations encompasses many different areas including employee engagement and retention, coaching, corrective action, and exit interviews.  In addition, Gretchen works with staff on conflict resolution, grievance processes, policy and procedure interpretation and training on employee relations related topics.  Gretchen is serving as the Peer Advisor Human Resources liaison.  Prior to coming to Gonzaga, Gretchen has held the titles of Human Resources Manager, Corporate Recruiter and Store Manager for a large retailer. Her experiences have contributed to her passion for assisting staff and helping organizations grow and succeed. She joined the Gonzaga Human Resources team in 2008.

Jason is responsible for leadership and management development, employee professional development, diversity awareness training and provides internal consulting services for individuals, teams and departments on a variety of issues impacting organizational effectiveness. Prior to coming to Gonzaga, Jason has been guiding individuals, teams and mid- to large-size, publicly held companies as well as non-profit organizations for over 10 years.  He joined the Gonzaga Human Resources team in 2004.
