"Friends in Service" Volunteers

Volunteers are a valuable resource to Gonzaga University. The experience, talents, and time they contribute strengthen all program areas.

Volunteers are defined as members of the University who give time and expertise without receiving or expecting monetary pay. The purpose of involving volunteers in key roles is to increase the effectiveness of salaried staff in carrying out the mission of the University and to provide personal development opportunities for each volunteer.

The Friends-In-Service Volunteer program is open to any individual, not employed by the University, who wishes to give their time to the University. Volunteers are needed in a variety of areas and placement will be dependent on specific needs of the University and personal skills of the volunteer.
Some of the benefits our "Friends" receive:
  • Volunteers are granted a parking pass to park in any of the staff lots. This can be obtained from the Human Resources Office.
  • Volunteers are also given a Gonzaga University I.D. which grants them access to utilize University facilities, such as the Rudolf Fitness Center if volunteering for 10 hours or more a week.
  • Volunteers are given a 10% discount at the Gonzaga Bookstore.

For more information regarding the "Friends-in-Service" program please contact Jamie Cockerham, Human Resources Coordinator at cockerham@gonzaga.edu.
