| Job Purpose |
| The person holding this position will be responsible for general programming for students with emphasis for evening and weekend events. Programming responsibilities include selection, logistics, scheduling and promotion. Programs will be aligned with the University Mission through the development of the whole person and providing programs that will challenge our students in many ways. This position requires the incumbent to employ concrete professional judgment in an independent manner during events. This person will be the professional in charge during events for which they are held responsible. A working knowledge of student development, leadership development and event risk management is critical. |

| Essential Functions |
- Essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Create, direct and promote student programs specifically for The Office of Student Activities.
- Work in conjunction with the Gonzaga Activities Board and the Programming Committee to provide interesting and challenging events for students.
- Advise the class officers of each specific class, Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior classes.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of Orientation and its related programs.
- Assist student Clubs and Organizations in planning and implementing their activities and programs.
- Will be lead person and held responsible for evening and weekend programming and work with a variety of student groups to increase activities during these times. Will serve as the on-site professional during these events. Independent discretion and judgment during planning, and at the time events take place, will be critical to the success of this position.
- Will be responsible for all aspects of risk management for programs planned and implemented.
- Be available to travel with student organizations on organized weekend events and trips and be the supervisor and on-site risk manager for these outings.
- Be available to assist students with their questions on planning and implementing events.
- Responsible for webpage management and general marketing/advertising for student events which includes the calendar of events for both internal and external distribution.
- Will be expected to manage programs within the designated budget. Regular budget reviews will be expected.
- Other duties as assigned.

| Other Functions |
- It will be necessary for the person in this position to communicate with a wide array of other departments on campus to ensure coordination of efforts are succinct in meeting the programming needs of our students. Communication skills which are effective to a wide array of audiences is crucial to the success of this position.

| Supervision Given/Received |
|
This position will be supervised by the Director of Student Activities. Effective advising of students is crucial to the success of this position.
|
|
| Physical Demands |
|
Ability to lift up to 20lbs, assist with moving tables, chairs and other equipment as needed. Ability to be mobile campus wide for various business needs.
|
|
| Required Qualifications |
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 4+ years of commensurate programming experience. Experience should include creating, promoting and coordinating events.
- Excellent communication skills including verbal and written
- Knowledge of an array of software programs such as Outlook, Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite.
