Sport Fee: Free event

Participant Information:  Each participant/team member must fill out the roster information and sign the assumption of risk/liability release portion of the registration form.  Each participant assumes the responsibility of their own health and willingly agrees to comply with all stated and customary terms and conditions for participation.  If, however, the participant observes any unusual, significant hazard during participation, in or near their presence, he/she will remove themselves from participation and/or proximity and bring it to the attention of the nearest staff immediately.

Event Date: Saturday, April 9th (Time is TBD and all participants will receive an email before the event with further information and exact times)

Event Information: Each participant will have a maximum time of three (3) hours to complete all three areas of the triathlon challenge which includes 1/4 mile swim (18 lengths), 12.4 mile bike and a 5K run (3.1 miles).  Participants must check in with the timing table before transitioning to the next event.  A running clock will be used, and each heat will start every 20 seconds.  We recommend bringing your own watch so you can track any stop time you have, due to flat tires, stoppage at intersections, or the possibility of waiting at a train crossing.  You will be marked by a number, which needs to be visible at all times.  All distances are based solely on the honor code and times given are estimates.  There will be one champion for both individual Men's and Women's and team Men's and Women's and Coed.

SWIM- This is the only indoor leg of the Triathlon.  The distance is 1/4 mile or 18 lengths.  Starts will begin in heats.  Goggles and swim caps are highly recommended.  Transition areas will be posted.
BIKE- You must provide your own bike and helmet.  The ride is 12.4 miles, outdoors,  Helmets are mandatory and must be strapped on before mounting bike.  A GU Intramural official will be on hand to watch the bike and running gear.  You will be riding on the Centennial Trail to mile marker 16 and back; maps will be provided.  Click on the link to see the bike portion of the course:  Triathlon Bike Map
RUN- Distance is 3.1 miles.  The run will be done outside on the Centennial Trail to Riverfront Park and back eventually leading past the Jundt Art Building, behind College Hall/Administration Building, wrapping around the McCarthy Athletic Center, back in front of the Martin Centre.

Teams- A minimum of 2 people, maximum of 3 people per team.  If you register your team with 2 people, each person MUST compete and complete the entire leg/legs of the race they register for.  Triathlon teams will be broken up into 3 divisions: Men's, Women's and Coed.  Each division will crown one Triathlon Team Champion.  This is based on total time of the race (swim time, transition time, cycling time, transition time and run time).
