Her personal athletics background includes basketball, softball and soccer as a college athlete at Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Ohio. Shelly was an Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach for one year and three years with the Women’s Softball program at MVNU after receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sport Management with a minor in General Business. She also holds a Master’s degree in Sport and Athletic Administration from Gonzaga. Shelly has worked as a Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Attendant at the Worthington Community Center and a Facility and Recreation Supervisor at the Groveport Recreation Center in Ohio. Shelly has been a Professional Member of the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association for the past four years and is certified in CPR for the Professional Rescuer. At Gonzaga, Shelly is the Associate Director of the Rudolf Fitness Center & Director of Intramurals and oversees all 22 intramural events and 35 intramural staff members. The two things she enjoys most about working with the intramural program are interacting with the students and teaching the different sport skills to her intramural staff. She anticipates watching the students learn and grow throughout the year not only with all of the sports, but also with life.
