The Gonzaga Student Employment Office serves students seeking part-time employment during the academic year and full-time employment during the summer. Both on and off-campus jobs are awarded as part of the financial aid package. However, many other on campus job opportunities are available regardless of financial need (with Sodexho Marriott food services and/or some individual departments).

Does Gonzaga have core curriculum requirements for all students?Yes. All students, regardless of their major, take the Core Curriculum. This consists of 4 philosophy classes, 3 religious studies classes, English composition, English literature, speech, and math. Students may spread out the Core over their 4 years here, but most take both English classes, speech and their first philosophy class during freshman year. When do I declare a major? Does it matter if I don't know exactly what I want to study?

About 60% of entering Gonzaga students are undecided about their major field of study. Students normally have until the end of their sophomore year to declare a major. Many students change majors after they are enrolled. Obviously, some fields (like engineering and education) are less flexible than others. Students who are even slightly interested in engineering or education should start off taking courses in that field. It is much easier to transfer out of these majors than into the programs at a later time.
