Favorite place on campus: I love the University Chapel in College Hall because it’s a beautiful and intimate space that's perfect for the kind of quiet reflection that Jesuit education has long valued.
Advice for College-Bound Students: Strive to be both contemplative and active in your college years. Contemplation will help you listen to yourself and make good decisions—about what to study, how to manage your time, and how to get the most from your college experience. Staying active on campus—meeting with professors outside of class, taking leadership positions, volunteering with fellow Zags—will give you concrete experiences that challenge and inspire you.
Favorite Thing about Spokane: Coming from someone with more indie music tastes, I think Spokane has an under-rated live music scene. I’ve seen Wilco, Andrew Bird, Josh Ritter, The Civil Wars, and Ben Folds here, to name just a few. There are some great local bands here, too. (My favorite: Cathedral Pearls.)
