Scholarship Opportunities

We are proud to offer a number of scholarships to help fund your Gonzaga experience. Several of our scholarships are awarded based on individual merit, and others require a separate application.


Our scholarships are outlined below - please be sure to scroll down to see available scholarship opportunities at Gonzaga. Please ask if you have any questions!

Gonzaga Merit Scholarships:

  • All students who complete the Application for Admission are automatically considered for one of several need-blind scholarships
  • Only awarded to accepted freshmen students
  • Scholarships range from $4,000 to $14,000 per year and are guaranteed for four years (as long as the student enters as a freshman and maintains good academic standing)
  • Criteria for the scholarship include difficulty of curriculum, grade point average, SAT or ACT test scores, extracurricular activities, recommendations, quality of the essay, and optional interview
  • Separate application forms are not required


National Merit Awards:

  • Available to National Merit Finalists who have contacted the National Merit Corporation to designate Gonzaga as their first choice college
  • Students must meet all notification deadlines and renewal requirements set forth by the National Merit Corporation
  • Awards are $6,250 per year for a total of four years. The award is increased to $7,500 per year if the applicant demonstrates significant financial need.


Girls and Boys State Scholarships:

  • Available to selected high school seniors who list their participation in this program on the Application for Admission
  • 4 delegates (two female and two male) will be chosen from each of the following states to receive a one-time award of $500: Alaska, California, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington
  • A separate application is not required

Hogan Entrepreneurial Leadership Program

Acceptance into the Hogan Program (demonstrated leadership, creativity, and service to others. Typically a 3.7+ GPA and a 1250+ SAT or 28+ ACT.) Selection based on application and interview process. $500/year plus waiver of fees for excess credits

Honors Program

Acceptance into the Honors Program (intellectual achievement, leadership skills, self expression, and service to others. Typically a 3.7+ GPA -- in the most rigorous courses offered -- and a 1350+ SAT or 30+ ACT.) Selection based on application and interview process.

Christopher M. West Scholarships

Must reside in Spokane/greater Spokane area or Sandpoint, ID. Awards will be given based on the following selection criteria: demonstration of humanitarianism through membership in honorary service clubs; participation in community service organizations or individual humanitarian interest; and two letters of recommendation.

Daniel G. Brajcich Scholarships

Awarded to outstanding high school graduates who demonstrate financial need and enroll in the School of Business during their freshman year at Gonzaga.

$2,500/year

Ignatian Leaders Scholarship (ILS)

To apply for this scholarship students must have received an 'Invitation to Apply' from Gonzaga either in the mail or directly from their high school counselor.


Criteria for nomination:

Student must be in the top of his/her high school class in academic performance; have at least two years of demonstrated leadership activities; and have at least two years of demonstrated community service activities.

$5000/year

Music Scholarships

Granted each year to students regardless of their intended major. Awards are given based on 1) acceptance to the University; 2) an application submitted to the Music Department; 3) audition (live or tape); and 4) financial need.

Transfer Opportunity Scholarships

Available to sophomore and junior transfer students who have demonstrated scholastic achievement at an accredited community college, and intend to pursue a bachelors degree full-time.

Phi Theta Kappa

Transfer students who list their participation (for at least one year) in the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

***Outside Scholarship Opportunities exist through many organizations within your community, and we encourage you to pursue them whenever possible. Contact your guidance counselor or check with service organizations such as Knights of Columbus, Rotary Club, and Elks Club. Other possible sponsors include employers, parent's employers, trade associations, banks, credit unions, corporations, schools, and churches.

If you choose to attend Gonzaga University, we guarantee your Gonzaga-funded scholarships and grants will not decrease if you maintain good academic standing, as defined in the Gonzaga catalogue, during your continuous four-year enrollment.
