Gonzaga-in-Zambezi

Gonzaga students in Zambezi are immersed in the life of a small, African town. They study leadership and perform community development activities including: leadership training, educational literacy projects, health education program, and teaching basic computer skills. Students also take a 3-day visit to Livingstone, Zambia to visit the famous Victoria Falls and go on a wildlife safari in beautiful Chobe National Park in Botswana.

Interested GU students are encouraged to apply early (as space is limited). Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Operation of this program is subject to administrative approval and is dependent upon meeting the minimum enrollment.

Application Deadline: November 1, 2012

  • Early application is encouraged. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
  • Program admits up to 15 students per group (30 total) with priority given to Comprehensive Leadership students, but is open to all Gonzaga undergraduates.
  • Operation of this program is subject to administrative approval and is dependent upon meeting the minimum enrollment.

Admission Requirements:
Gonzaga-in-Zambezi is open to all undergraduates who will have completed at least freshman year and Zambezimeet the admission requirements listed below:

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Clearance form
  • Interview process

Application

  1. Application form (type directly into pdf and then print completed application)
  2. $50 non-refundable payable via CASHNet
  3. Two (2) academic recommendations
  4. Student Life clearance online form
  5. Return application to the Study Abroad office either in person (323 E Boone Ave) or by campus mail to AD ZambeziBox 85.
