Programs

Gonzaga University offers undergraduate students full year, semester, and summer study abroad opportunities. Along with the traditional study abroad destinations that include Italy, England, France, and Spain, Gonzaga University also offers programs in Latin America, Australia, and Asia.

GONZAGA SPONSORED STUDY ABROAD PROGRAMS

Several of our sponsored programs are run by Gonzaga University staff/faculty and include Gonzaga-in-Florence and Literary London. Our other sponsored study abroad opportunities are provided by affiliated programs and direct exchange universities. Australia -- Queensland, Center for Rainforest Studies: Semester or Summer
Brazil -- Exchange program: Semester
British West Indies -- South Caicos Island, Center for Marine Resource Studies: Semester or Summer
China -- The Beijing Institute of Language and Culture: Academic Year, Semester, or Summer
Costa Rica -- Center for Sustainable Development Studies: Semester or Summer
England -- Gonzaga at The London Center - Semester or Summer
El Salvador -- San Salvador, Casa de la Solidaridad: Junior or Senior Semester
France -- Gonzaga-in-Paris: Junior Year or Semester
Italy -- Gonzaga-in-Florence: Academic Year, Semester, or Summer
Japan -- Sophia Exchange: Academic year, semester or summer
Kenya -- Center for Wildlife Management Studies Program: Semester or Summer
Mexico -- Baja, Center for Coastal Studies: Semester or Summer
Mexico -- Cuernavaca: Summer Program
Spain -- Granada, ILACA Program: Junior Semester

SPONSORED PROGRAM BENEFITS:

NON-SPONSORED STUDY ABROAD PROGRAMS:

Students are allowed to participate in non-sponsored programs wherever they choose. However, please note that:

  • You must take a leave of absence for studying abroad
  • Only Federal Aid will transfer - consortium agreement
  • Receive transfer credits ("T" on transcript)
  • Pay a $100 administrative fee per semester
In order to transfer credit from non-sponsored programs
students must:
  1. Make sure the program has a U.S. accredited sponsor.
  2. A minimum grade of "C" must be earned in each course in order to be accepted as transfer credits.
  3. Make an appointment to discuss the program with Wanda Reynolds, Director of Study Abroad, 323 E. Boone (gray house), Ext. 3583.
  4. Complete the "Study Abroad Approval" forms in order to take a leave of absence.
  5. Pay a $100 administrative fee.

NOTE: All applications (sponsored and non-sponsored) must be through the Study Abroad Office.
