THE LONDON CENTER
The London Center is a program of AHA International in partnership with Gonzaga University, a fully accredited four-year Jesuit institution of higher learning, based in Spokane, WA. Classes take place in the London Center, a spacious, historic Georgian building in the Bloomsbury/Holborn area. PROGRAM DATES
Fall semester: September - December
Spring semester: February - May

The London Center offers two fourteen-week semester programs per year. A one-week break in the middle of each semester allows time for independent travel.

ACADEMIC PROGRAM
Building on a quarter-century of academic excellence, the London Center offers courses in literature, politics, theater, history, and art history with an emphasis on experiential learning, supplemented by local outings and excursions. Study with an extraordinary team of local faculty members - practitioners in their chosen field. Immerse yourself in the history, culture, and diversity of London.

FACULTY AND STAFF
Over the years, the London Center has assembled an extraordinary team of faculty members from all corners of the London's city limits. In most cases, faculty members are practitioners within their chosen field of study, and most don't just teach in London--they also pursue their passions there. Students will learn to think critically and creatively about the world around them while studying under the London Center faculty.

EXCURSIONS
England is your classroom-excursions to cultural and historical sites around the country are an integral part of your learning experience. In the past, program excursions have taken students to Stratford-upon-Avon, Chartwell, Bath, Stonehenge and Wales. Exact destinations may vary from term to term, and are determined at the beginning of the program.

PROGRAM COST
Semester Cost:  $13,900** (2007/08 program cost)
The semester program cost for 2008/09 is still to be determined. Students admitted to the program must confirm their participation, within two weeks, with a non-refundable $500 deposit which is applied to the program cost.  

The program cost includes:

  • Tuition
  • Excursions
  • Housing
  • Daily breakfast and dinner four times per week
  • Books and course materials
  • London Travel pass (Zones 1-6 on all trains and buses)
  • Medical insurance
  • International Student Identity Card
  • Associate membership in the University of London Union
  • On-site orientation
  • Expert support predeparture and on-site

ADMISSIONS

Application Deadlines:

Fall:  March 1 
Spring:   October 1 
Early application is encouraged. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling-basis up to the application deadline or until the program is filled, whichever comes first. Late applications are considered on a space-available basis. Incomplete applications will not be considered. 

Admission Requirements:

  • 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Sophomore standing at the time of application
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Student Life and Academic Services clearances or program approval
