RECENT EVENTS:

2nd Annual Bing Crosby Holiday Film Festival, December 7, 2007, Bing Crosby Theater

This event was put on by the Advocates for the Bing Crosby Theater to educate the public about Bing Crosby.  A $1 donation was suggested.  School children were invited to attend the 10:00 showing of "Bells of St. Mary's".  Prior to the show, a short introduction about Bing Crosby and his impact on music was given to inform the students.  Over 70 students were in the audience.

The Bing Crosby Collection at Gonzaga loaned materials to have on display in the lobby as well as in the lobby of the Davenport Hotel, which is across the street from the theater.  These displays are still open to the public.

3:00 p.m. Book signing and talk by Crosby's niece Carolyn Schneider and her book Me and Uncle Bing

Wing Ding for the Bing” Spokane’s Met Theater Renamed the Bing Crosby Theater, December 8, 2006

On December 8, 2006 there was day long events to celebrate the name change . Starting at noon, there was a free Bing Crosby Film Festival at the theater. “Going My Way”, “The Road to Morocco”, and “White Christmas” was shown. At 7:00 p.m. the theater was dedicated and the new sign unveiled. Civic dignitaries were invited and participated in the event. At 8:00 p.m., Kathryn Crosby performed her cabaret act as a fundraising event.
