Social Security Numbers
Due to procedural changes within the Social Security Administration, Social Security numbers are only given to international students who have confirmed employment in the United States.

For students with confirmed employment, please visit the International Student Programs office (ISP) for a Social Security application and Employment Confirmation letter. Please contact Danae Terhark, International Student Advisor, if you have any questions: terhark@gonzaga.edu.

Individual Tax Identification Numbers (ITIN)
For international students who do not have graduate assistantships, work study positions, or other confirmed employment, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) issues an Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN). For more information on ITIN's, please click here. For tax purposes ONLY, this number can substitute for a Social Security Number. You can print out an ITIN application or stop by the English Language Center (ELC) or ISP office and pick one up.  Please contact us if you have any questions!
