Spokane-based nonprofit educational and professional development organization founded by Carl and Teresa Wilkens, committed to inspiring and equipping people to enter the world of the "Other" and to stand up against genocide, racism, and intolerance. As a humanitarian aid worker, Carl Wilkens was the only American who chose to remain in Rwanda during the genocide; he is responsible for saving the lives of hundreds of children and others. His amazing work was possible because Teresa Wilkens took their young family from Kigali to Nairobi, caring for them and providing moral fortification amidst the terrible suffering he worked to meliorate. Today, the Wilkenses speak at venues throughout the world, promoting peace and openness toward the "Other."

Dr. Bock is the author of The Technology of Nonviolence: Social Media and Violence Prevention (MIT Press, 2012).  He has addressed gatherings at the World Bank, the Woodrow Wilson Center, a UN Assembly in Cairo, and Catholic University of Leuven.  He has consulted for the Asia Foundation, worked as an INGO leader in many parts of Asia, Africa, the Balkans, and the Middle East, and served as the Director of External Relations for the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame.
