Student Cultural Clubs & Organizations
Bella Italia (GUIC): The Gonzaga University Italian Club (Bella Italia) exists to promote, research, educate, preserve, and protect Italian history, heritage, and culture.

Black Student Union (BSU): The Black Student Union develops and promotes a greater understanding of the black cultural and social heritage among everyone. They foster political and social unity among all students, staff, and faculty of Gonzaga University, as well as citizens of the surrounding Spokane area. They assist in the recruitment and retention of black students, staff, and faculty at Gonzaga University. BSU hosts an annual dinner in February as well as many other activities during Black History Month.

Chinese Student Scholars Association: The Chinese Student Scholars Association (CSSA) serves the Chinese community of GU and enhances the cultural exchange between China and the United States and to increase Chinese culture and diversity. The CSSA hosts an annual Moon Festival and Chinese New Year Celebration.

Club Francais: Club facilitates discussion and appreciation of the French language and culture through social and cultural activities.

Filipino American Student Union (FASU): FASU was created to increase awareness of the Filipino heritage and traditions through social, educational, and cultural activities. Additionally, FASU sponsors karaoke nights and has lumpia and turon sales every other week on campus in the Crosby Student Center. They host a Festival exhibiting traditional Filipino dances, among other forms of cultural entertainment in the spring.

First Nations Student Association (FNSA): FNSA reaches out to the local tribes by working with the youth to encourage them to attend college. We strive to educate the Gonzaga community about issues affecting Indian Country and to celebrate the accomplishments and act as a support group for Native Students. FSNA hosts the annual "Unity in Spirit" Pow Wow in April.

HERO: (Helping Educate Regarding Orientation: A Gay/Straight Alliance) As an integral part of the Gonzaga University, HERO members are motivated by the humanistic, Catholic, and Jesuit traditions to which this university belongs. They seek to encourage the development of self-knowledge, self-acceptance, a restless curiosity, a desire for truth, a mature concern for others, and a thirst for justice within the context of faith development and human transformation. In October, HERO hosts an annual "Coming Out Day" BBQ.

HawaiiPacific Islander Club (HPIC): HPIC was formed to create an awareness and understanding of the cultures, heritage, and traditions of the people of Hawaii and other Pacific islands (Guam, Palau, Samoa, Micronesia, etc.), through social, educational, and cultural activities. In addition, HPIC acts as a support system for those students who are far away from their island homes by offering a variety of activities such as shopping for winter clothes. HPIC's signature event is their annual luau held in March.

International Student Union (ISU): The International Student Union is a nonprofit and non-political organization whose purpose is to promote and encourage cultural awareness as well as socially integrate activities and the spirit of unity at Gonzaga. ISU hosts the International Education Week in the fall and an International Dinner in the spring featuring food, music and dance from around the world.

Japanese Club:The Japanese Club will form a more perfect bridge between two cultures (American and Japanese) by sharing Japanese culture with the Gonzaga Community through the use of education and participation in Japanese activities. The Japanese Club follows the guidelines of the Gonzaga University Mission Statement in order to "draw us closer to the human family of which we are a part." Japan Club hosts the annual EXPO Japan in the spring.

La Raza Latina:La Raza Latina provides a support group for Latino/Hispanic students on campus and encourages awareness and understanding of the Latino culture through education and networking in the Gonzaga Community. La Raza Latina works with University Ministry to hold Spanish masses, hosts a Dia de los Muertos Celebration and the La Raza Festival.

P.I.E.R.:The Program for International Education and Relief (P.I.E.R.) is dedicated to global justice and peace issues. Its mission is two-fold: to provide relief and education to those members of the human family in developing countries, and to bring cultivated insights back to our campus and communities, thus advocating for global change and education. In the summer, P.I.E.R. sends students abroad to raise awareness of human rights and peace issues.

Taiwanese Student Association of Gonzaga University(TSAGU): The purpose of the TSAGU is to develop awareness and understanding of the culture, heritage, and traditions of Taiwan and of the Chinese and other peoples whose origins are in Taiwan through social, educational, and cultural activities. TSAGU also helps incoming Taiwanese and other foreign students to become more familiar with the United States.

Women's Studies Club: The Women's Studies Club works to foster dialogue about women and gender, and to educate the GU campus about these issues. The Women's Studies Club represents a co-curricular program in order to provide a forum to discuss issues presented in Women's Studies classes. The Women's Studies Club will promote serious thinking on how gender roles affect all of our lives. During the spring semester the Woman Studies Club holds an annual 'Take Back the Night' Rally and Speak Out.

Law School Clubs and Organizations
Sexual Orientation Diversity Alliance: The purpose of the Sexual Orientation Diversity Alliance (S.O.D.A.) is to foster a sense of community among students and staff of all sexual orientations by providing support and promoting visibility. They will work with the faculty and administration to ensure that the interests of students of diverse sexual orientation in the student body are considered and provided for by the school.
Multicultural Law Caucus: The Multi-Cultural Law Caucus (MLC) is a non-profit student run organization focused on community building. The primary objective of the organization is to create a sense of unity among all law students and to create a forum for students to learn about different groups as well as the legal issues affecting them. It also strives to help students with the transition into law school by providing the wisdom and guidance of alumni, students, and faculty members to incoming students on how to adjust into their legal careers beginning at Gonzaga. This organization works to educate and prepare future lawyers to recognize the inequities in our legal system and dedicate their professional lives to the development of a more just society.
Black Law Student Association (BLSA): The mission of the BLSA is to promote strength, unity, leadership, and professionalism among law students. In addition, its mission is to instill in the student and attorney a greater awareness of commitment to the needs of the community. The Association believes that attorneys must use their knowledge, passion, and sense of community to fight against the hopelessness and injustice that exist in the community.
