GLBT Resource Center Mission Statement:
-approved March 23, 2007 by GLBT Advisory Board
The GLBT Resource Center at Gonzaga University is inspired and guided by the university mission and values of faith, service, justice, leadership, and ethics to serve as center for support, community, networking, research, and education related to concerns shared by students, staff, and faculty of diverse sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions.
The purpose of the GLBT Resource Center is four-fold:
- Education: Part of our commitment to a humanistic, Catholic, and Jesuit education is "knowledge of traditions and cultures different from our own."
- Support: The Resource Center is a place where GU students from sexual minority groups can find other welcoming and accepting people.
- Programming: The Resource Center serves as a place for the development and implementation of educational events and service pertinent to the issues related to sexual minorities at Gonzaga University.
- Awareness: The Resource Center assists with awareness programming by Unity House and other groups approved by the Director.
Safe Zone Statement:
The GLBT Resource Center is considered a safe zone for all individuals regardless of race, ethnicity, culture, sex, gender, religion, creed, national origin, age, ability, and most of all, Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity!
GLBT Resource Center Policy Statement:
The GLBT Resource Center reports to the Director of Unity House. In view of this, programming for education and awareness, press releases (internal and external) and other public interactions will be approved by the Director of Unity House.
