Agency:  General Services Administration (GSA)

Position:  Loss Prevention Team Manager - My group which is partially remotely located from me and made up of people who also work at home investigates credit card misuse and fraud and manages a contract that facilitates $500,000,000 worth of transactions for our GSA Fleet leased vehicles each year.

Education:  Masters in Public Administration (MPA)

Job Flexibility:  Both Flex-time and telecommuting - I work a flexible schedule that allows us to work up to 10 hours a day with 80 hours in a two week pay period.  I also work at home generally 2 out of 4 days per week although it's flexible as far as what and how many days.

Personal:  I'm a divorced mom with two children ages 12 and 6.  I consider myself extremely lucky to have a career that allows me to balance home and work.

I think the key to obtaining flexible work arrangements is to first prove yourself to your employer, very few jobs begin with flexible arrangements and then be willing to show them how that flexibility and your ongoing talents
will also benefit them.
