About Karen:
Karen has more than 20 years experience in Training and Development and is an active consultant and coach with leaders at many different levels. She has led statewide change initiatives and interventions; designed and delivered leadership and staff development programs; facilitated and mediated teams towards continuous improvement; and created collaborative communications across different functional areas. Karen is committed to growth and development. She is accustomed to tailoring information and events to the varying needs of individual managers in order to optimize their organizational performance. Above all, she enjoys helping leaders explore, discover, and influence.
Education:
BA in Communication and Psychology (Africa). Instructor for Community Colleges of Spokane, and guest presenter for Gonzaga and Whitworth Universities.
Certificates: Advanced Consulting Skills; Netspeed; Lean; Hogan assessments and interpretation; Profiler administrator; Meyers-Briggs facilitator. Master trainer in Interaction Management, Achieve Global, McGraw Hill leadership development series.
Professional insights:
Listening, encouraging, challenging when appropriate. I tend to focus on what can be done rather than what cannot. My experience living in many countries has given me perspectives on diversity that enhance relationships and assist with growth.
Personal:
Karen has a dual "career" as a single parent to a teenage boy. She has lived on 3 continents and visited all of them. Her love of learning is replicated in new places, people and cultures. She appreciates travel, museums, long walks, volunteering, and reading.
