Dr. McCann came to Gonzaga in 1992 from UC
Davis where he received his Ph.D. in Physiology.
During his time at Gonzaga he has taught courses in Anatomy and
Physiology, Research Methods, Exercise Physiology, Advanced Exercise Physiology, Nutrition, and Advanced Topics. His research
interests include muscle metabolism,
thermoregulation, and most recently, the application
of dimensional analysis and similitude theory to the
study of rest and exercise energetics.

Dr. Geithner's Ph.D.is in Kinesiology
with a specialization in
Physical Development and Aging
from The University of Texas
at Austin. Her current research
projects include barriers to and motivators for physical activity, relationships among risk factors (especially obesity and fat distribution) for chronic disease in children and adults, athlete profiling and talent identification in sport (diving and women's ice hockey). In addition, Dr. Geithner teaches courses in Team Building and for graduate students in Gonzaga's Master's of Business Administration, Master's of Accounting, and Master's of Organizational Leadership degree programs, and works as a team
development and leadership facilitator and consultant for public and private companies and organizations.
Dr. Thorp earned his Ph.D. from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada. His primary area of research has been to examine how exercise promotes beneficial adaptations in cardiac muscle. He currently teaches courses in Anatomy and Physiology as well as Cardiovascular Physiology.
