Graduate Assistantships

- Doctoral students may be eligible to work as a Graduate Assistant (GA).
- Graduate Assistantship assignments are made on a one-semester basis.
- You will need to re-apply for an assistantship each semester.
- GAs are granted by the DPLS Chair to full-time graduate students.
- All GAs are subject to final acceptance by the Financial Aid Office.
- Graduate Assistants receive an hourly wage and are required to work anywhere from 4 - 10 hours per week.
- In order to be eligible for a GA, students must be registered for at least 6 credits during the semester in which the assistantship applies.
- Graduate Assistants who are not performing satisfactorily, or who are on academic probation, will not have their assistantships renewed.
- Graduate Assistant applicants should have completed, or be in the process of completing, the Ph.D. application process.
- To apply for a Graduate Assistantship please complete and submit the GA application form (PDF) by the semester due date.

- The Graduate Assistantship application form (PDF) can be faxed to Fax: 509-313-3463.

- Graduate Assistant applications will be accepted after the indicated dates only if positions remain open.
- Graduate Assistant applicants must have a valid US Social Security Number in order for a Graduate Assistantship to be granted.
- Timecards. Graduate Assistants are responsible for submitting their timecards. Directions and forms can be found at the Gonzaga University employee information site.
