Online Master of Science in Nursing Curriculum

Gonzaga offers the Online Master of Science in Nursing degree emphasizing development of Nursing Administrators and Nurse Educators.

Family Nurse Practitioner Curriculum– Nurses in this option provide primary care to individuals and families of all ages and are able to manage a wide variety of both acute and chronic health problems.

Psychiatric-Mental Health Curriculum - This option prepares students to work as psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioners or clinical nurse specialists. 

Nurse Educator Curriculum - Nurses in this option are prepared to work as educators in academic, hospital, and community-based settings.

Health Systems Leadership Curriculum- Nurses in this option are prepared to assume administrative positions in inpatient, outpatient, and community-based settings.

 

 1.  Family Nurse Practitioner
Family nurse practitioners emphasize a holistic approach to health promotion and patient involvement in management of health care problems. Family nurse practitioners work in independent as well as collaborative practice settings.

On Campus: Two on campus visits each semester, one and a half days each, during 600 level course work. No on campus visits required during 500 level course work.

The MSN Family Nurse Practitioner specialization program requires 43 credit hours of graduate coursework.

3.Nurse Educator
Students develop an area of clinical specialization as well as vital skills in curriculum development, teaching-learning strategies, and evaluation. Particular emphasis is placed on tailoring content and presentation to the student’s needs. Practicum experiences take place in a variety of educational settings.
