Gonzaga University Leadership Conference

In partnership with the International Leadership Association

The Spring Leadership Conference brings together graduate students from Seattle University and Gonzaga University every year to exchange ideas, share research, and build relationships that will continue beyond the boundaries of this conference.

Submissions

If you are a current student, candidate, or 2010-2011 graduate in the DPLS then you are invited to present at the annual Seattle University/Gonzaga University(SUGU)Doctoral Research Conference. This year the conference will be held in Seattle on Saturday April 30th. Please see the details at the end of the link below. Also see the call for proposals attached. The Gonzaga deadline for proposals in March 30. Please send your proposals to me via email with SUGU Conference Proposal in the subject line.

Please note that opportunities for full presentations are open to DPLS candidates that have completed their dissertation research or have collected their data and are in the analysis process. Other DPLS students and candidates are encouraged to present your work in the Poster session. This is a great opportunity for everyone.

We especially encourage doctoral candidates who have completed or are nearing completion of their doctoral research to submit paper session proposals. Those who are in earlier stages of their doctoral research are encouraged to submit poster session proposals. The format for proposal submission is the same, but please indicate whether your submission is for a poster or paper session.  Guidelines regarding presentation suggestions (for both papers and posters) will be forwarded upon acceptance of proposals.

Abstracts for paper or poster session proposals are limited to 150 words. We welcome proposals that broadly cover both traditional and experimental approaches to leadership. Our conference is committed to helping leadership scholars and practitioners from various disciplines to participate in an all-inclusive dialogue about the state of the art in leadership studies.

Session Formats

Paper Sessions

Presenters submitting proposals for paper sessions will be grouped thematically when possible and will present a 15-minute synopsis of their paper. At the conclusion of all papers in the session, a time of question and answer will follow.

Poster Sessions

Presenters submitting proposals for poster sessions will be allocated space in a grouping with other poster presenters. The presentation in the form of a “poster” or laptop display will be made available for a 2-3 hour block of time. During this open time presenters will be with their display to answer questions about the research one-on-one or with small clusters of viewers.
