Department of Energy Scholars Program: Offers paid internships, research opportunities, and individual development for undergraduate and graduate students. OPENS OCTOBER 2014.
American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Mass Media Science and Engineering Fellows Program: A 10-week summer program that places science, engineering, and mathematics students at media organizations nationwide to enhance coverage of science-related issues in order to improve public understanding and appreciation of science and technology. CLOSES JANUARY 15, 2015.
National Institutes of Health (NIH) Undergraduate Scholarship Program (UGSP): Competitive scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who are committed to careers in biomedical, behavioral, and social science health-related research. Recipients participate in a 10-week summer laboratory research experience. Closes March 3, 2014.
NOAA/Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship: Up to $8,000 of academic assistance per school year for full-time study during the junior and senior years, plus a required, 10-week, paid ($650/week) internship during the summer between the junior and senior years at NOAA or a NOAA approved facility. Closes January 2014.
Naval Research Enterprise Internship Program: A 10-week internship program is designed to provide opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to participate in research, under the guidance of an appropriate research mentor, at a participating Navy laboratory. Closes January 13, 2014.
