Choral Music at Gonzaga
Welcome to Gonzaga University Choirs!
To our friends and family, to prospective students searching for a creative singing community, and to all music-lovers: we are delighted you are visiting us. The Gonzaga University Choirs maintain an active performance schedule on-campus and on tour, and we invite you to explore our ensembles, concerts, and past performances.
As an academic performance organization that is integral to the Gonzaga community, we pride ourselves in our mission: Choral Artistry and Excellence Rooted in the Jesuit, Catholic, and Humanistic Tradition. We seek to perform diverse music that will invigorate and inspire audiences, and our innovative programs explore intersections between society, culture, and music. Our choirs are open to singers of all abilities, consisting of music majors and non-majors, undergraduate and graduate students, and Gonzaga faculty and friends.
Students who major in vocal performance or music education become adept at performing a wide variety of choral repertoire, from the medieval to modern eras. Upon graduation, our students are competitively positioned to serve as the finest music educators and performers or to pursue graduate music study.
We perform locally in the beautiful St. Aloysius Catholic Church on campus and and downtown at the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox. The choirs tour regionally every year in the Seattle and Portland area in addition to regular national and international tours. Recent international tours include China, France and Colombia.
Gonzaga’s Applied Voice Department hosts regular master classes with internationally renowned singers and collaborative pianists. Through these master classes, Gonzaga voice students have numerous opportunities for professional coaching and performance.
