The English Department is pleased to announce the Franz and Ann Schneider Essay Contest for the best student essays from this academic year's Composition and Introduction to Literature courses. Any student enrolled in English 101, 200, 102, 105, or 106 during summer term 2008, fall semester 2008, or spring semester 2009 is eligible to enter. (Note: essays from spring semester 2008 that were due in class after the March 31, 2008 cut-off for last year’s contest may be submitted this year.) No more than two essays may be submitted by any student. All submissions will be evaluated by a committee from the English Department. Prizes, including cash ($100 for first place, $50 for second place, and $25 for third place), will be awarded to the authors of the best essays from English 101/200 and English 102/105/106.
